The young Ciel Phantomhive is known as the “Queen’s watchdog” who takes care of the many disturbing events that take place in Victorian England for Her Majesty. With the help of Sebastian Michaelis, his trusty butler with seemingly inhuman abilities, Ciel uses whatever means necessary to get the job done.

But is there more to this black-clad butler than meets the eye? Ciel’s past holds a secret tragedy that shrouded him in eternal darkness at one of the darkest moments of his life. He made a contract with Sebastian, a demon, trading his soul in exchange for revenge on those who wronged him.

Today, Sebastian is not only a damn flawless butler, but also a perfect servant, following his master’s orders while waiting for the delicious food he will eventually cook from Ciel’s soul. As the two try to unravel the mystery of Ciel’s chain of misfortune, a bond develops between them that neither heaven nor hell can break.
